Kara is the designer and artist behind Karacotta Ceramics.

Originally from Wisconsin, Kara grew up exploring the woods, creating with organic materials, and developing a deep appreciation for nature—early influences that continue to shape her work as a potter. Largely self-taught, she first discovered ceramics in a high school art class, reigniting her passion in 2011 through hands-on experimentation and a lifelong creative curiosity.

Beyond Karacotta, Kara’s entrepreneurial journey spans industries—she has co-founded a software company, run a yoga studio, helped launch the Austin maker collaborative Broad Studios, and even built and sold a significant property management business. Drawing from this diverse experience, she brings a unique perspective to her maker business.

When she’s not blissfully covered in clay, you’ll find her practicing handstands, reading in the sun, sipping coffee, and chatting goals and strategy with fellow female entrepreneurs.

About This Platform & How It Works

Cobble is on-demand consulting for indie business owners, by indie business owners. It’s inspiration and help from experienced folks who have been in your shoes.

Here’s how it works:

  • Cobble coaches are seasoned business owners in your space. They’re kind, smart, experienced folks who built successful businesses and want to share what they know. Each one has different focus areas and expertise and set their own rates. (See all coaches here.)

  • Book a call for 30 or 45 minutes depending how much time you think you’ll need. You can also book multiple calls with your coach if you think you’ll need even more time.

  • After you book, we’ll send you the call information and ask for some pre-call prep from you.

  • You’ll talk to your coach as scheduled and get empathetic, expert, targeted help.
